The Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach is currently seeking a highly motivated and organized seasoned professional who can work collaboratively with our Artistic Director and board. The Managing Director is responsible and accountable for major aspects of CMSPB’S operations, including development, financial management, strategic planning, marketing, and social media. leading to the organization’s future growth and sustainability.

Working closely with the board, the Managing Director position is responsible for fundraising, actively pursue philanthropic support from individuals, businesses and corporations, local and national foundations, and government agencies, ensuring excellent stewardship of all gifts.

About CMSPB

The mission of the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach is to produce performances and educational programs of the highest artistic merit, to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of chamber music, and to enhance the cultural life of Palm Beach.

Founded in 2012, we enter our ninth season fiscally sound and with a great sense of accomplishment. While many organizations canceled this past season, we elected to innovate. We live-streamed six beautifully directed concerts, curated anew when needed, successfully reaching, and engaging our audience. We earned the trust and respect of the artists who performed for us this past season by providing rare performance opportunities and honoring contracts. Although only two-thirds of our subscribers renewed, our donor support increased. Season Eight was a uniquely collaborative effort and a unique and well-earned celebratory moment!

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Vision, Strategy, and Leadership

  • Refine organizational goals and objectives consistent with the mission and values of CMSPB
  • Monthly reports to the Finance Committee and Board
  • Work collaboratively with Artistic Director, Executive Committee and Board
  • Develop a collaborative organizational culture that supports cohesive, creative, and productive relationships with strategic partners

Development, Fundraising, and Financial Support

  • Direct CMSPB’S fundraising efforts and provide organizational leadership in all aspects of development,
  • Supervise all fundraising activities: creation, monitoring and reporting of a detailed development plan, an annual fundraising calendar, research and submission of all grant proposals, management of donor recognition activities and related reporting.
  • Cultivate new and existing donors while seeking new prospects to ensure the growth of future funding; develop and maintain relationships with existing foundations, corporations, government funding agencies and other philanthropic supporters.
  • Develop and implement stewardship, endowment and legacy programs aimed at cultivating deeper ties with existing donors and new supporters
  • Engage board members across the development process to be proactive in fundraising activities.

While many organizations cancelled this past season, we elected to innovate. We live-streamed six beautifully directed concerts, curated anew when needed, and reached and augmented our audience. We earned the trust and respect of our season artists by providing a platform for performance while honoring their contracts. Although only two-thirds of our subscribers renewed, our donor support increased resulting in a strong financial position. Season Eight was a group effort and a unique and well-earned celebratory moment!

We reach new audiences through numerous community outreach programs and throughout the year with our national broadcasts on American Public Media.
